Oh, what an exciting time!

I found out I'm going to be a grandma! I've known since December 7, 2024, but was asked to keep it a secret until Christmas Day. Then, on January 3, 2025, I received even more surprising news: my daughter is expecting twins! The excitement was overwhelming, but also a huge shock.

Unfortunately, our joy was short-lived. We learned that she lost one of the babies at 8 weeks. The news was devastating, especially since we had been preparing for two. However, we are incredibly grateful that she still has one healthy baby girl who is growing and thriving. Yes, it's a girl!

My daughter found out about the loss at 15 weeks during a visit to a Toronto hospital. Two previous ultrasounds at a local hospital had not revealed the loss, and the doctor was shocked that they were unaware. They named the baby Ivy. ❤️

Despite the ups and downs, I am overjoyed for the future. Some women might feel that becoming a grandma makes them "old," but for me, it feels the opposite. Being a grandma makes me feel alive! It's not about age, it's about the wisdom and experiences that come with it. I can’t wait to share all the wonderful things this world has to offer with my granddaughter. I’m also looking forward to those precious hugs and sticky kisses. 💖💖
